State announces 511 more cases after another record-setting round of tests

Wisconsin labs ended the week with another large uptick of completed COVID-19 tests and reported the second biggest single-day increase in cases.

Results came back for 9,465 tests on Friday, with 511 positive cases. The daily record for confirmed cases was set on Wednesday when the state announced 528 new positive tests.

But Friday was the second day in a row the state set a new record for testing in a single day, and the pace has dramatically increased from two weeks ago when about 2,000 results were coming back each day.

Friday was also the second day in a row positive cases made up about 5% of all results reported that day.
