A badly burned body found after a vehicle fire in Illinois was identified Thursday as that of Milwaukee teacher Kathleen Ryan, 56.

Dental records confirmed the identity of Ryan, who was reported missing late Saturday.

Authorities responding to a vehicle fire shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday found Ryan's 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Coupé in the 36500 block of North Route 41 in Warren Township, Illinois, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said the car was found in a private driveway and the fire doesn't appear to have been caused by a traffic crash.

The driveway leads to a single-family home off busy Route 41. The short private road starts from the highway and enters a private wooded area. It is about 1,000 feet from a gas station and motel.

Residents of the home declined to speak with a reporter Thursday.
