Linda Lou (Kirchner) Kneifl, 66, of Mindoro Wis., passed away with her family by her side, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn., Friday March 1, 2019, after a 20 year battle of multiple cancers.

Linda was born on April 9, 1952, to Glen & Charlotte (Freier) Kirchner. Linda attended the Brown’s Valley School until it closed then went to the Burr Oak Parochial School. She graduated from Pepin High School in May of 1971. Linda went on to graduate from beauty school in Eau Claire, Wis. in 1972. Linda worked as a beautician in Minnesota, La Crosse Wis. and West Salem Wis. for several years.

Linda married John Kneifl, of Bangor,Wis., on May 26, 1973, at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church. They lived in Pepin, Wis., until they moved to the Kneifl farm in Bangor in 1974. John & Linda farmed from 1974 to 1981. They then moved to the Kirchner Homestead in 1981 after her father passed away.

Leon Legacy, age 90 of Black River Falls, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls. Arrangements are pending. Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls is assisting the family.

Timothy “Tim” D. Hogan, 59, of Portage, WI, and formerly of Sparta, died Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Rivers Assisted Living, Portage.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Rev. Randy Larson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday, and from 10 a.m., until the time of service, Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.schanhoferfh.com

Howard R. Pingel, 88 of Tomah passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019, 11am at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Curt S. Backhaus will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Thurs from 4pm until 8pm at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah, and at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements. Evelyn S. Matejka, 96, of Taylor, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, in her home in Taylor.
