James R. Kniseley, 88, of Northfield, WI/formerly of Taylor, WI, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017, at his home, while under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 14, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Taylor Lutheran Church, Taylor, WI. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, rural Taylor.

Family and friends are invited for visitation Sunday, August 13, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, WI, and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home of Hixton is assisting the family with arrangements.

John “Sam” Voss, 64, of rural Independence, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics, Whitehall.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.

Morris (Butch) Lowell Jensen Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on July 9, 2017 at the age of 74.


Morrris is preceded in death by his parents, Morris Jensen Sr. and Rose (Bautch) Jensen.
Morris is survived by his loving wife, Pina, of 50 years. They were married in Naples, Italy on April 25th, 1967.
Morris (Papa) is also lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Rosie (Jack) Moehling of Midlothian, Virginia and Lisa (Luke) Schaffner of Arcadia, Wisconsin and his grandchildren: Danielle, Rachael and Mackenzie Filla of Midlothian Virginia and Sidney, Sienna and Samuel Morris Schaffner of Arcadia, Wisconsin. Morris is the first of his siblings to pass and he is remembered fondly by his family members; Jean (Jim) Schultz, Doris (Larry) Camastral, Neal Jensen and Dennis (Donna) Jensen.
Morris was born in Arcadia, WI. On March 1, 1943. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1961 went on to serve his country by joining the Navy.

Eva L. Clay, 89, of Sparta, died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta.


A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. John’s Ev Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Reverend John Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to call from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Sparta Area Cancer Society. Online condolences may be offered to Eva’s family at www.schanhoferfh.com

Daniel A. Franson, age 69, of Boyceville, died on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall. Burial will be in the Bruce Valley Cemetery in rural Strum. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
