James A. Trachsel, 82, of Humbird, passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2017.


James Arthur Trachsel, son of Fredrick and Mildred (Anderson) Trachsel was born Jan. 25, 1935. He was a life long resident of the village of Humbird, where he was baptized and confirmed at the United Church of Christ, attended elementary and high school and graduated from Alma Center High School. On April 28, 1956 he was united in marriage to Darleen Barka at the E.U.B. Church in Augusta.
For 23 years Jim worked in the fire protection area with the Conservation Department /DNR. He then worked 6 years with the Jackson County Iron Mine in Black River Falls. Upon their closing, he purchased a dump truck and for the next 17 years he was an owner/operator working in the truck division with Mathy Construction out of Amery. After selling the truck he worked another 5 years for the company as a parts runner.
