The Black River Falls Public Library will transform into a mini golf course during an annual event set for July 21.

The Friends of the BRF Public Library group will host the “Friends Golf Open” from 9 a.m. to noon on a new course built by local resident Dennis Ruda. The course will weave around the aisles of the Fillmore Street library with each hole sponsored and decorated by local businesses and organizations.

“We are excited to continue the Friends Golf Open and show off the new course,” said Joan Zenz, current chair of the Friends group. “We welcome families to enjoy the event and explore the library.”

Mini golf event chairperson Jean Lee contacted Ruda after last summer’s event, and the group was excited when he undertook the project to construct the course to alleviate the Friends’ need to rent a course. It also allows the group to have a unique course that will be used for years to come, Zenz said.
