Co-op Credit Union Melrose Branch Manager Kathy Sampson has retired after serving the credit union for nearly 35 years.

Sampson handed over the reins to Jamie Lockington, who assumed her new position in mid-April. Lockington previously served as assistant branch manager at CCU’s former La Crosse location.

Sampson started at CCU in 1982 as a part-time teller and four years later was named Melrose branch manager, a position she has held since. Family, friends and credit union employees celebrated Sampson’s service at a retirement gathering April 14.

“It’s been a very emotional week,” Sampson said during the event at the Melrose Legion Hall. “I’ve been very much wowed.”

Eric Chrisinger, CCU’s president and CEO, said Sampson supported her members, employees and the Melrose community.
