Leona M. Hemmersbach, 92, of Sparta, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, with Fr. Keith Kitzhaber officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cashton.

Christine Billings, 58, of Black River Falls, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Atrium Post-Acute Care in Black River Falls.

A celebration of Christine’s life will be held in Racine at a later date.

Mary Ann Gabriel, 79, of Independence, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

Mary Ann was born December 3, 1937 in La Crosse, to John and Hilda (Thimmesch) Kaiser. She married Raymond B. Gabriel November 28, 1964 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. He died May 16, 2004.
Mary Ann taught first grade, for nearly 40 years, in Lookout and then at Arcadia Public School until retirement. She enjoyed casinos and traveling. She belonged to the Liberty Belles Red Hats and Catholic Order of Foresters.
She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and rosary society.
Mary Ann is survived by a sister-in-law, Rita Slaby of Independence; nieces and nephews, Rachel (Byron) Fields of Whitehall, Randall (Veronica) Slaby of Independence, Allan (Dawn) Slaby of Eau Claire, Nancy Christianson of Independence and Rick (Sarah) Slaby of Independence; great-nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.

Harriet Lindner, age 91, of Cashton, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton, WI. Father Michael Klos will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Michael David Bagniewski 28, of Arcadia died on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at his home.

Michael was born on May 5, 1988, in Eau Claire, WI to David and Jeannette (Thibedeau) Bagniewski.
Mike graduated from Arcadia High School in 2007, he attended CVTC in Eau Claire where he graduated with honors. Mike worked at Nelson Global Products in Arcadia as a welder. He had worked with his father at D&J Bagging. Mike had gone out west and worked as a combine/machine operator. When he moved back to Arcadia his knowledge and love of combining helped many friends with their combine operations. Mike’s dream was to be a hunting guide; as his passion was hunting deer, coyotes, turkey, and other game, as well as fishing. Mike was also an avid grill master.
Michael is survived by his parents: David and Jeannette of Arcadia; sisters: Sarah (Joe) Matchey of Independence, and Michelle (fiancée, Mike Komperud) Bagniewski of Arcadia; niece and nephew: Olivia and Joseph Matchey; grandmothers: Veronica Bagniewski of Arcadia and Rita Thibedeau of Eau Claire; many cousin and friends.
